BY JOANNA C. VALENTE
I’ve become obsessed with a new band: Sweet Megg & the Wayfarers. I’ve long been obsessed with the 1920s, the music, the fashion, the fanfare. Well, if you’re anything like me, you’ll love Sweet Megg, because the music is like a time machine and will take you back to the 1920s. The six-member band consists of a wide range of instruments, including delicious vocals, three types of saxophones, an upright bass, guitar, and drums.
The band has a new project being released this coming December. Singer, Megg Farell, describes the new album as having some modern twists and western swing: "We've come back to the earlier repertoire of the 1920s and 30s but we've also been mixing that with some modern elements."
This new album also features new heart-strewn, original songs written and performed by Megg, although all members of the band have special arrangements in the album.
