BY ROBERTO CARLOS GARCÍA
CURATED BY CECILIA LLOMPART
Elegy in which we are like quantum theory
Mami, you are an object out there pulling me
I must finish out this life—Mami, life is a field
Of magnetic & electric waves propelling me,
Mami, I am a marmalade of particles you called
Negrito lindo—Mami, so are you & in a quantum blink
The particles you’ve become & my particles yet to be
Will float along on waves of gravity & then, Mami
We’ll drink café con leche with cassava
The universe crackling—an old radio playing boleros
