It's not really a secret that Billie Holidays is one of my favorite musicians and singers of all time. In times of happiness, sadness, stress, anxiety, romance, loneliness, I turn to Billie. Really, I turn to Billie for everything.
Here are eight lesser known songs for you to love and cherish ("lesser known" meaning not her biggest hits like "Stranger Fruit"):

Joanna received a MFA in writing at Sarah Lawrence College, and is also the founder of Yes, Poetry, a managing editor for Luna Luna Magazine and CCM, as well as an instructor at Brooklyn Poets.
